The ‘W’ Hotel – Dubai
The Mariot group wanted to fitout the W Hotels prestigious Away spa with luxury spa tiles befitting the grand resort. The original design had been specified with a material that did not possess the luxury characteristics that the Marriot group desired. It was at this point Siminetti’s involvement in the project began. Sample materials were sent to the newly appointed interior designers – DWP, Who selected our anthracite 25mm which encapsulated the hotel owners desired aesthetics.
Timeframes were critical as the hotel and spa was already under construction and therefore Siminetti agreed to an exhaustive production program, which saw the production of 475m2 of 20mm x 20mm Anthracite Mosaics, produced and supplied within an 8 week timeframe, resulting in no delay to the original construction timeframe.
The Spa is a statement feature of any W hotel by Marriot. The Away spa here features ten treatment rooms, a steam room, sauna, experiential showers, a hammam and a couples suite. The spa entails a number of ties to the sea including homage to Dubais history in pearl diving, the use of mother of pearl here gracefully ties the ultra modern hotel to the locations history in a luxurious way.
Due to the shallow depth of each mother of pearl tesserae; our mosaic tiles are ideally suited to use on spa seating areas and loungers with curved edges. Stone, glass, and other traditional mosaic tiles are much thicker resulting in a staggered curve with protruding edges. The protruding edges are not only less aesthetically pleasing but also can cause discomfort and damage to swimwear.
Our mother of pearl mosaic tiles are sourced from eco-friendly, sustainable sources, are exceptionally strong and are suitable for wall and floor surfaces in luxury spas. Our collection offers a unique form of decoration, unrivalled by man-made products. All of our mosaics are resin sealed, making our tiles effortless to clean and exceptionally strong, suitable for both wall and floor surfaces. Siminetti’s mosaic tiles are suitable for internal use and perfect for wet areas, feature walls and spas. The collection includes fourteen freshwater and five saltwater mother of pearl mosaic tiles available in up to twelve different styles ensuring a striking look in any environment. All Siminetti mosaic tiles carry BS EN ISO Certification.
