For our third edition of ‘Precious Pearls’, we are travelling to the Island of a Million Palm Trees where Raffles Hotels and Resorts have opened an only 78-all-villa luxury property – Raffles Al Areen Palace Bahrain.
Wellbeing and reconnection with the natural world are at the heart of the enchanting new palace. The mini oasis is set in acres of lush, verdant greenery between the desert and ocean. This spacious and serene hideaway in an area known for its rich ecosystems and biodiversity is the perfect secret garden haven for the well-travelled.
Siminetti Feature Wall
A feature wall created with Siminetti luxury mother of pearl surfaces adorns one of the walls of the hotel’s shared lounges. Overlooked by a grand piano and created in collaboration with design firm Prime Projects, the wall design takes inspiration from eye-catching Arabic architecture.
The soft sheen of the mother of pearl surface glistens under the gentle glow of the ambient lighting, adding a touch of opulence to the lounge. The intricate patterns and delicate textures of the wall transport guests to a realm of timeless beauty and elegance.
As you sink into the plush seating, the melodies from the grand piano fill the air, creating a harmonious atmosphere that beckons you to unwind and savor the tranquility of the moment. This fusion of artistic design and soothing ambiance captures the essence of Arabian hospitality, enveloping visitors in a sense of luxury and comfort from the moment they step foot into the space.
‘Foxglove’ Feature Panel: Inspired by Nature
For this project, our Mother of Pearl Decorative Panel ‘Foxglove‘ was used.
The intricate details of this Feature Panel truly bring the essence of a garden fairytale to life within the hotel space. The choice of this design from Siminetti’s Seasons Collection perfectly captures the beauty and vibrancy of Spring, symbolizing growth and new beginnings.
Meticulously handcrafted by our skilled artisans, the stunning feature wall adds a touch of elegance and tranquility to the overall ambiance. The repeated pattern of the Foxglove design not only creates a sense of symmetry but also invites a feeling of peace and serenity, making it a captivating focal point within the hotel’s enchanting atmosphere.
Mother of Pearl Legacy
Bahrain’s pearling heritage is deeply ingrained in its history, symbolizing a time when the kingdom’s pearls were among the most coveted in the world. The delicate beauty of the Siminetti Mother of Pearl Feature Wall at the new Palace serves as a tribute to this legacy, showcasing the craftsmanship and artistry that once defined the region’s pearl industry.
The name “Bahrain,” means ‘two seas’ in Arabic and reflects the harmonious coexistence of its saline waters and hidden freshwater springs beneath the surface. This unique natural phenomenon is often credited with contributing to the unparalleled quality of Bahraini pearls, distinguishing them as treasures beyond compare.
